Not English or Hindi

Here are two photos of today’s newspapers.  Not, as you might expect, in the national languages of English and Hindi. These are Tamil (on the left) and Kannada (on the right).

Tamil Kannada newspapers

Kannada is the official language of our state – Karnataka.  But we are not far from the border with Tamil Nadu, so both papers are sold here.  I can’t read them, but I can tell the languages apart now.  Hindi and Malayalam look different again, so I will find some more newspapers for another day.

    I’ve never looked at them closely to notice the difference. Guess that might be a fun exercise!
