Wednesday 24 October was the date selected by our driver Dayalan for the annual puja for workers’ tools, on the basis of instructions in the newspaper for the auspicious day and time. Dayalan performed the ritual outside our house, with fruit and flowers and smoke and sweets and paint. We’ve had the car for a year now, and it has survived the streets of Bangalore so far, with only two minor collisions. This year we didn’t stop with the car…wait for the next photo.
