Living on the Most Expensive Square on the Monopoly Board

I’ve walked round richer and poorer areas of London for the Bleeding London project.  Today’s photos come from the richest of them all: Mayfair.

W1 Trebeck Street

Let’s look at how to fit in with the locals.

First, make your home look discreet but expensive.

Farm House Farm Street

Then hire a butler and a maid, and install separate doorbells for yourself, and for the servants.

When you take your afternoon tea in local cafes, choose the best places, with the best-dressed waiters.

When you buy your “James Bond” car from Aston Martin, make sure they deliver it to right to your front door.

Ready for dinner? Let’s head to the Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane…..

W1 Park Lane

The bear and panda were created by JULIEN MARINETTI , and are part of an exhibition at the Dorchester from  2 June –  30 August.  They add some colour and jollity to a sober part of London, but don’t you think the panda looks a little sad?

    I’ve never seen a car delivered before! Clearly I haven’t lived! 😉

Next time you buy an Aston Martin or the like, be sure to request that service!

    1. You can probably get one through Ocado, or “Saint O”, as my friend calls them.

Thanks for the reminder. Must book my next delivery, even if it’s only food, not sports cars.
The only thing better than Ocado is the delivery service on the Drumlin, where my aunt brings tomatoes from her garden, another aunt sends cake, and my neighbour brings me eggs from her hens.

        1. CAKE!!!! I’m booking that one. Daily!

I love your story-telling photos. And your comment of looking discreet but expensive made me laugh. Miss you!

Miss you too. Let’s go for a discreet but expensive lunch next time you visit London.

  4. A car being delivered, wow. Most people actually pay extra to pick it up straight from the manufacturer 😀

  5. The pandas do seem rather sad somehow… Love the ‘discreet but expensive’ comment! 🙂

Frankly, you had me at the title of the post! The separate doorbells are a hoot as well. I guess “deliveries” would press the Staff button. I wonder which bell door-to-door evangelists are supposed to use.

Wow, I’m ready to move in! There are definitely some areas like this in Moscow – but usually with more big guys with earpieces hovering around!

Incredible, I need a door bell with Mrs Sensible and Pecora Nera….
