Pumpkins and Dinosaurs in Regent’s Park

Back in London for the Frieze Art Fair.  Not deliberately: I just found it blocking my way across Regent’s Park.

This year, instead of complaining about the disruption, I headed for the Sculpture Garden.

This is “Storm” by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa.  I love the mixture of scripts in the sculpture.  Here is a closer view of some of the Chinese characters.

It was hard to resist the “Baby Dinosaur (Apatosaurus)” by Matt Johnson.

The dinosaur fits well into the autumnal garden, as does Yayoi Kusama’s pumpkin.

I’m not the only blogger impressed with Kusama.  Click here for a link to the pumpkinfest at Fran Pickering’s blog “Sequins and Cherry Blossoms”.

The Frieze Art Fair has now finished, so I assume that the art elves will remove these sculptures from the park overnight – but I hope I’m wrong.  I would love them to stay.
